I'm not really sure if I should stay here for a bit longer or get out as soon as possible. I am a newly hired microbiologist in this company and this is my first job out of college. My 2 trainers were

a bit hard to get along with since day 1. The other employees in the same department weren't also that welcoming, but I am willing to just ride along the difficult environment because I have hopes that everything will get better as I go on.

But the time when I was publicly humiliated by one of my trainers, I thought to myself “that's it. That's the final straw". I was in the middle of testing when my trainer called me out to the whole office and scolded me. She

couldnt believe she actually did that. It was so hard to face everyone since that day and i have been quieter since. Shortly, Ive been a topic of gossip. I've been crying for almost wveryday

I reported them to the HR and my supervisor and I tried to file a resignation. However, my supervisor did not let me resign. She asked me if I could try again for two more weeks and see if my relationship with my trainers

would improve after she talked to them. The opposite happened. My trainers stopped talking to me. When they really need to say something, they would message me through ms teams when they could just say it to me as they are

sadness i feel everyday trying to go to work and being around all these people. I feel like there are lots of people in this community who experience hard things on their work. Maybe any advice could help.

dee90909 Start looking for a new job while you have this job.

EBALL KARE ARRED OF YOUR PE Tmumsy Sounds like you are still in training. If so, training is free education. So perhaps continue training & look for another company while doing so. Suppose it's a little vindictive, but in the end the Trainer's will have wasted their time & get what they deserve when you resign.

Northwest_Radio Please know that HR is not there for the employees. HR is there to protect the company.

KathyW1100 Don't resign. If you continue to be that unhappy, then start looking for another job first.

umhuh223 There's a reason why no one was welcoming when you started. The environment was already toxic. That's not a you thing. Don't take things personally. The first job out of college is just a stepping stone and they clearly don't want you to quit. Be thankful they only message you in teams.

Boring_Artichoke5483 I'm so sorry, no employee should treat others that way at work, especially not someone who else meant to be a trainer. You should stay until you have something else lined up to still get paychecks and benefits. Until then, try to develop thicker skin while still maintaining professionalism.

WatercressAfraid1144 I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening to you. I faced the same thing. I ended up being fired for standing for myself. Today is my first day at the new job.

spot-on assessment of many red flags of larger problems that will leave you feeling all kinds of negativity. This environment has long-term impact the wrong direction. The company doesn't deserve you. You deserve to honor that about yourself.

Girl_almightyyy OP Thank you all I've been here for less than a month. Yes, I will take your advices and look for a new job first before resigning.
